FERRITE Round Base Magnet 70

Our round base magnets are also referred to as cup magnets, holding magnets or shallow pot magnets.
Encased in a nickel plated steel cup, this Ferrite ring inside has an outer diameter of 60mm an inner diameter of 25mm and a thickness of 10mm, which would ordinarily have an approximate pull force of 9.38Kg (That approximation of this ferrite ring is based on flush contact with a thick, clean steel plate whereby the magnets pull is directly parallel to the magnet itself and not at a 90° angle). With pot magnets, the ring magnet is embedded in a steel pot which acts to redirect the magnetic field lines toward the contact surface, thereby causing the magnetic force to be concentrated on the exposed face of the magnet, which then in turn allows this magnet to have a pull force of 19Kg, which is rather impressive. The Steel casing also acts to protect the magnet from chips, cracks and breakages.

Ferrite Round Base Applications

As with all magnets, there are many widespread different applications they can be used for. With the hole through the center, one can fit a screw, eyebolt, hook for mounting applications. Funnily enough, these magnets are also called holding magnets due to the obvious uses of holding various items.
For example, pot magnets are used as part of a light fitting for a magnetic down light. The magnet which attaches to the light holds onto metal in the ceiling.
