Return & Refund Policy

At Modern Magnets, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied, please review our returns and refunds policy below.

1. Return Period
You may return items within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, unfortunately, we cannot
offer a refund or exchange.

2. Conditions for Returns
To qualify for a return:

  • Items must be unused, undamaged, and in the same condition you received them.
  • Items must be returned in their original packaging.
  • We cannot accept returns of scratched, chipped, or broken magnets. Magnets are brittle by nature and can break if handled incorrectly (see our Magnet Safety page).
  •  Only items returned in good condition will be eligible for a refund.

3. Return Process

  • Please include your proof of purchase (invoice/receipt).
  • Email us at admin@modernmagnets.co.za to request a return, and we’ll provide return instructions.
  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. We recommend using a tracked shipping method as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned parcel.

4. Refunds

  • Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you by email whether your
    refund is approved.
  • If approved, your refund will be processed via EFT within 5 business days.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • If you haven’t received your refund after 7 business days, please contact us at admin@modernmagnets.co.za. Please double-check that the banking details you provide are correct, as we cannot take responsibility for incorrect details.

5. Exchanges

We will gladly exchange items if they are:

  • Defective,
  • Damaged on arrival, or
  • The incorrect size/item was sent. To arrange an exchange, contact us at admin@modernmagnets.co.za and we’ll assist you.

6. Sale Items

Only regular-priced items may be refunded. Sale and clearance items are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded.

7. Shipping Address for Returns

Please contact us first at admin@modernmagnets.co.za before sending any returns. We’ll confirm the correct return address and advise you on the process.

Shipping Policy

Thank you for shopping with us! Below you’ll find everything you need to know about how we
ship your order.

1. Processing Times

  • All our standard products are kept in stock and are ready for dispatch.
  • Orders are prepared and shipped within 24–48 business hours after payment has
    cleared.
  • Please note: We do not ship on weekends, public holidays, or during our annual December shutdown.
  • If we experience a high volume of orders, dispatch may be delayed slightly. Should this happen, we’ll keep you updated by email or phone.

2. Delivery Timeframes

  • Major cities: Delivery within 2–4 working days via courier.
  • Outlying / rural areas: Delivery within 5–10 working days.
  • Store collection: Free, we’ll email or call you when your order is ready.
  • Delivery times are estimates and may vary. Courier delays, especially during busy holiday seasons or in remote areas, are unfortunately beyond our control.

*Please note: We cannot offer overnight delivery. Magnets are classified as dangerous
goods and cannot be shipped by air.

3. Custom Orders

Custom-made magnets require longer lead times for production and testing.

  • The expected timeline will be confirmed with you during the quotation process.
  •  Shipping of custom products will only take place once production is complete.

4. Shipping Rates

  • Standard courier delivery: Calculated at checkout.
  •  Store collection: Free.

5. Tracking Your Order

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking number(s). Tracking becomes active within 24 hours.

6. Deliveries to P.O. Boxes

We recommend using a physical address. Deliveries to P.O. Boxes are not guaranteed within normal time frames, as they rely on the postal service.

7. Damaged Parcels 

We take care in packing your order, but if your parcel arrives damaged:

  • Please take photos of the package before opening.
  • Email the photos to admin@modernmagnets.co.za immediately.
  •  Keep all packaging and damaged goods until we advise further.

8. International Shipping

We do ship internationally to selected countries.

  • Please contact us at admin@modernmagnets.co.za for a quote and details.
  • Customs duties, import taxes, or tariffs are the customer’s responsibility.
